Marc Werner

CHAIR

Marc is a senior at Millburn High School and Chair of NJHSD. He previously served as the Communications Director of NJHSD, expanding the organization’s audience and leading the digital side of Youth for Murphy. In the past, he has worked on the re-election campaigns of Governor Phil Murphy and Congressman Tom Malinowski. Outside of politics, he is passionate about community service, business, graphic design, soccer, and the environment. Marc is honored to serve as Chair this year to continue growing NJHSD, and looks forward to connecting with fellow NJHSD members!

Julien Catalon

VICE CHAIR

Julien is a junior at Woodbridge High School. Previously, he served as the Finance Director of NJHSD. He has worked on Governor Phil Murphy’s re-election campaign, local Middlesex County campaigns, and the New Jersey Vote16 campaign. Julien is especially passionate about AAPI representation and equality. Outside of school and politics, he enjoys musical theatre, playing piano, genealogy, and coin collecting. Julien is thrilled to serve as Vice Chair this year!

Roshni Aneja

she/her

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR

Roshni is a senior attending John. F Kennedy Memorial High School, currently serving as the Membership Director at NJHSD and previously as the Southern Regional coordinator. She also serves as the Woodbridge Township chapter’s chair and founder. In the past, she has worked on Governor Phil Murphy’s campaign, interned for Congressman Frank Pallone and currently is on his Youth Advisory Council. She enjoys playing her clarinet, baking, and playing tennis. She’s passionate about the environment and a woman’s right to abortion. She is excited to be the NJHSD Membership Director for the 2022-2023 school year and expand the organization to further encompass passionate young activists and include more New Jersey schools and organizations. 

Parth Joshi

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Parth is a senior attending South Brunswick High School and currently acts as the Communications Director of NJHSD. Beyond NJHSD, he works on political campaigns and serves in other organizations centering political advocacy such as JSA and Generation Ratify. His other interests and passions include reading, writing, debating, and binging TV. He is overjoyed to be acting the Communications Director for the 2022-2023 year with the hopes of expanding the scope and breadth of NJHSD and inspiring others to become politically active themselves. 

Aadit Vinayak

LEGISLATIVE DIRECTOR

Aadit is currently a junior at Millburn High School. He has always been interested in politics, and as a freshman, learned about HSDA. He joined the Millburn High School chapter, with the goal to act on his beliefs. Aadit played an active role in his local township elections as media and events coordinator. He was also an intern on the Malinowski for Congress campaign, Murphy for Governor primaries campaign, and a volunteer with the Murphy for Governor Campaign, which helped him in his position as East Regional Coordinator for the 2021-2022 year. As a member of Congressman Tom Malinowski’s Youth Advisory Council, legislation and the law is of great interest to Aadit, as well. He is extremely excited to help NJHSD as Legislative Director in the upcoming year, as he believes students are the minds of the future and deserve a say in what happens.

Shardul Krishnakumar

ADVOCACY DIRECTOR

Shardul Krishnakumar is a junior at John P. Stevens High School and is excited to serve as the Advocacy Director for New Jersey High School Democrats. He has a passionate interest in politics, international affairs, and history, Shardul is involved in various clubs in his school, such as National History Day, Model UN, and JSA. Shardul is also heavily involved in music, playing the viola in his school’s chamber orchestra as well as learning Indian classical music as a vocalist for the last 10 years. Outside of school, you can find Shardul watching breakdowns of Marvel shows, playing tennis, watching soccer, or listening to a politics podcast. As Advocacy Director, Shardul hopes to raise awareness about prevalent issues within our communities and identify different solutions that can be implemented at various different levels. After serving as a member on the Advocacy Committee this past year, he looks forward to working with fellow high schoolers and making it even better! Shardul is excited for the upcoming year and cannot wait to see what NJHSD can accomplish!

Margaret Wang

POLITICAL DIRECTOR

As a young and spritely high-schooler, I try to live my life to the fullest. I’ve always been an ambitious and headstrong - perhaps even over-zealous - person, and I always take any chance I can grasp to advocate for and inspire others. When I do have some free time, I love baking, practicing taekwondo, and binge-watching random shows.

Neel Naladala

FINANCE DIRECTOR

Neel is a junior at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North in Plainsboro, New Jersey. He currently is a leader of the WW-P District Chapter and was part of the State Advocacy Committee. Outside of NJHSD, you can find him debating at Model U.N. conferences, hiking, or running his community organization Small Step Loans. In the past, he has taken part in many political events and is always open to dialogue. He is more than ecstatic to be serving as your State Finance Director and is looking forward to championing progressive values!

Neha Naladala

NORTH REGONIAL COORDINATOR

Neha is an junior at West Windsor Plainsboro High School North in Plainsboro, New Jersey. She served on the State Advocacy Committee and is currently the Treasurer of the WW-P HSDA District chapter. Outside of HSDA, you can see her reading books, playing tennis, or listening to music. In the past, she has taken part in a variety of political activities such as working with voting stations, and is always willing to express her political beliefs, amplify her voice, and take part in political discussions. She feels more than honored to be serving as one of your regional coordinators and is looking forward to working with everyone to engage fellow students to become active within the American political system, advocate for causes within their communities, and elect Democratic candidates to public office.

Ananya Rao

CENTRAL REGIONAL COORDINATOR

Ananya is a senior at South Brunswick High School. Her hobbies include reading and painting. Ananya is extremely passionate about activism and politics; specifically, she enjoys talking about topics like feminism and gun control. Ananya's prior experience with HSDA includes being a part of the National and NJ Advocacy Committee. She is looking forward to a great year with NJHSD!

Archana Maryada

SOUTH REGIONAL COORDINATOR

Hey, my name is Archana Maryada and I am a Regional Coordinator for NJHSD! My favorite activities include reading, playing tennis, traveling, and watching movies. I have a strong passion for advocacy and want to work toward better opportunities for underprivileged individuals. There are so many issues that need to be addressed worldwide, and I hope that high schoolers everywhere can make a difference through hard work.
